Stanley Burroughs the renowned nature guru invented the Lemonade diet and has many other names and among them is Master Cleanser Diet. Burroughs was deeply interested in finding processes to detoxify the body as well as reflexology and his thoughts and research was embodied in a book called “The Master Cleanser Diet”.

The foundation of the diet is Lemonade, Cayenne Pepper mixed with Maple Syrup was formulated with the aim to remove toxins from the body as well nurse it back to good health. He further recommended the diet for overweight individuals owing to its ability to foster weight loss. The program involves following the Lemonade diet from between ten and forty days. He provides the exact measurements of the lemonade juice and allows it to be the only ingested item for the duration of the program.

The fact that you would only be drinking lemonade for the next ten days minimum would ensure that weight would be lost. This is not advisable though to those with pre existing medical conditions such as diabetes or hypertension and if you do plan on undergoing the program it would be best that it be done under the supervision of a licensed physician.

Water Hydration Therapy

February 23, 2009 by Sherry Ingram · Leave a Comment

The body contains almost 60% water and by products and without it the body’s normal functions would be hampered and even shut down. Recent studies have indicated that the brain does not distinguish between “thirst” and “hunger” so the message it sends to find sustenance can be just about thirst.

With this as the background, a simple dietary lifestyle change is being offered. Called Water Hydration therapy, it goes beyond the childhood advice of drinking eight glasses of water a day to a specific time frame initiated response to drinking water. As soon as you wake up, it is suggested you drink a glass for it helps jumpstart the body by increasing the metabolic rate and replace lost fluids in sleep. Then prior to meals, one needs to drink a full glass in order to trick the brain into thinking it is full. Instead of soda or coffee, have water with lemon during breaks and right before going to sleep. You may find yourself going to the bathroom more often, but the benefits of waste elimination, higher metabolic rate and recuperative powers of water are always present in each glass that is drunk.

Diet Review – Fruit Cleansing Diet

February 23, 2009 by Sherry Ingram · Leave a Comment

The freshness of the fruit coupled with its flavour and texture are but some of the benefits in undergoing a fruit cleansing diet. When ingested, the natural ingredients allow for instantaneous digestion without much work by the body. The sucrose in the fruit is easily burned and the fibres help in colon maintenance. There is nothing about fruits that can be said to be harmful to the body, though not all fruits are edible.

By exclusive dining of fruit, the body undergoes a cleansing and detoxification program which is much more extensive than a fruit juice diet. The digestive system does not shut down and there is not much change in the metabolic rate coupled with lowered calorie ingestion helps in the body’s detoxification.

There are drawbacks though as the cleansing of the body and the removal of toxins, there would be some effects that need to be addressed, such as foul breath and some weakness spells. But the diet is only for a short period of time and does not create weight loss but instead is all about toxin dissipation from the body.

Many lives were changed when Oprah Winfrey personally endorsed the Dynamic Duo diet plan on national television. In one of her shows, she had showcased the products of Dr Perricone, a noted dermatologist and Dr Oz her personal fitness specialist to review what she had endorsed.

The Dynamic Duo diet consists of a mixture of Acai Berry and Colon Cleanse diet plans. The Acai berry has gained prominence worldwide as to its ability to increase energy levels and add vitality to the users of the fruit in their diets. The increased energy also increases the metabolic rate allowing for a more efficient burning of calories. Also, the fruit provides the necessitated vitamins, fiber, antioxidants and minerals for daily use. When used with the Colon cleanse the plaque and toxins that accumulating in the colon is effectively removed. Dangerous bacteria are removed and bowel movement is regularized with a clear effect on the skin. This ultimately lowers blood pressure and levels of cholesterol in the body.

This is a safe way for weight loss instead of deprivation or surgery. This makes the ease of the program attractive to many and its effects are clearly achievable.

Dual Action Cleanse Review – Water with Lemon

February 15, 2009 by Sherry Ingram · Leave a Comment

Many people go through workouts without realizing the need for water in their system. The ideal ratio for water to lemons is eight ounces of water to a lemon. This is good for average people but if you are overweight, then having more water would help in weight loss, about eight to ten glasses a day.

Water is the most essential ingredient in many of the body’s processes and keeping hydrated helps optimise many bodily functions. By being starved for fluid, the body reacts by storing water in the body for its needs. Water also helps in removing toxins in the body through sweating and urinating. When this happens, the body’s metabolism increases thus burning fat that is stored in the body. With the water with lemons program, the body need not store water and become more of an engine than a water tank.

Lemons provide vitamin C that is good for the skin and increasing resistance to common diseases. The water with lemon for weight loss program helps the body perform optimally in its ordinary functions. The weight loss would be minimal, but the health benefits are great.

Another Diet Pill Review – Water Pills

February 15, 2009 by Sherry Ingram · Leave a Comment

Water pills are diuretics that trigger the kidneys to eliminate sodium from its system the soonest possible time. The elimination of sodium results in the excretion of water as waste products. Also, some water pills limit the body’s ability to absorb sodium, which is removed from the body as waste and thus water is eliminated from the body,

The real purpose of water pills is the management of hypertension. By triggering the excretion of water as waste, there is overall blood volume in the body. By lowering the blood volume, the blood pressure is decreased. With the excretion of water is the removal of toxins in the body.

The use of water pills can produce very dangerous side effects to the body. Since it removes water, the water need of the body is compromised. Also, the higher excretion of water removes important nutrients that could have been absorbed had there been more time to process the water. The weight lost is actually water weight and the diuretic effect of the pill would lower blood pressure tremendously thus affect the over-all circulation of the blood in the body. So before taking the water pill, it would be best to have a consult with your physician as having the water pills ingredients in the system too much for too long may result in many grave consequences.

The resurgence of tea as a health drink and now as a weight loss elixir has made research on its health benefits a big business.  In this diet program crafted by Mark Ukra and Sharyn Kolberg, the ingestion of tea together with adherence to a specific food program would result in weight loss.

The plan’s basic steps are as follows:

  • Choose the tea that you would drink for the day and there must be no sugar or crème added.
  • Follow the laid out diet program for you.

There is a fourteen-day plan with specific instructions on what can be eaten, drank and cooked during that period. Also, the plan would educate you on the teas that are available and suitable to your tastes, including teas that suppress sweet cravings. There are also recommended processes to enhance the tea experience.

Drinking tea has been shown to have good effects on the body. The recommended food list is passable at best but the absence of an exercise program would hamper any meaningful weight loss in the long run.

The Astra Diet Tea is a Chinese tea concoction with the goal of appetite reduction and improvement of digestion. It is best used with the Astra 18 diet as partner to the tea for a complete weight loss program. The formula is said to contain herbs that control stomach functions with the aim of restoring the appetite to normal levels and allow for optimised nutrient extraction from a lowered diet intake.

The ingredients include Loquat, Perilla and Lophatherum that assist in controlling stomach distress. There is also Eleutheroginseng and Mentha that helps in proper digestion. Also Loquat and ginger would resolve phlegm build up in the nasal passages and lung tubes for better health.

Though tea has some qualities that provide health, its weight loss properties are still subject to much debate. Since this program also proposes a diet program, there is hope that this makes for the promised weight loss. But without a full time workout activity, the diet program of the Astra Diet Tea may not be able to sustain its weight loss gains.

Dual Action Diet Cleanse Review – Water Therapy

February 13, 2009 by Sherry Ingram · Leave a Comment

The basic requirement is eight glasses of water a day for good health but can it lead to weight loss? As the body is predominantly water, the need for constant replenishment is crucial to over-all health. A body that is hydrated well allows bodily processes to happen efficiently. Drinking water thus helps in the chemical processes of the body leading to a higher metabolic rate and this leads to weight loss.

It has been proven that with a properly hydrated body helps burn calories at a higher rate than normal. Also, thirst and hunger are sensations that occur simultaneously. Thus by quenching the thirst, you are also suppressing hunger. Since most of the food available is water based, the more we eat may not necessarily be for hunger but for the cravings for liquids. Instead of drinking, people would eat to gain the necessary fluids but with the effect of gaining calories.

Thus, by drinking water, you feel full and thus need not eat. But if you do eat, it is important to drink water as many of the processed foods lack water and even take on water reserves for digestive purposes. So, to control the cravings, drink water as it helps quench the thirst.
