Soldiers are least twice per year weighed. The Army uses a different set of weight standards for those who are still applying to join the Army. There is another chart used if a Solider has finished the Army Basic Combat Training. The weight chart is used as a screening tool. If Soldier exceeds the weight on the chart it does not mean the Soldier is overweight. The chart is used to measured body-fat content in Army Regulation 600-9 or the Army Weight Control Program. If the Soldier is with in the range, they are not considered overweight.
Weight Checks are done using these procedures. Height is measured in stocking feet, standing on a flat surface and chin parallel to the floor. The body must be straight same as the attention position. The measurement is rounded to the nearest inch according to the guidelines. Weight is also measured and recorded with the same procedure and guidelines. All measurements are in standard PT uniform. An additional 6 pounds per inch is added for males over 80 inches.

The Food and Drug Administration takes up the issue about Cheerios health claims. Federal government regulators are reprimanding the maker of Cheerios, stating it has made improper claims about the well known cereal’s capability to decrease cholesterol and take care of heart disease. The FDA gave a warning letter to General Mills, the product maker that writing on the Cheerios box implies that the cereal is made to prevent or remedy heart disease.
Regulators declared that only the approved drugs from FDA are permitted to make such declaration. There are other claims in the label that states that in six weeks your cholesterol level can go down. General Mills made a reply saying the health claims on the product was approved for 12 years and the FDA’s protest distribute with how the language come into view on the box. The business said in a report that the claim is not in question.

If you want to know the overall health of your body, getting your weight is the first step. Just adding some more steps more you will know your Body Mass Index (BMI). This is an accepted effective tool. Get your weight by using a bathroom scale in pounds. So if you are 120 lbs and 5 ft. Use a calculator and multiply 703 by your weight. This will change your weight to the metric system. So for 120 lbs x 703 = 84,360. Take down the result.
Find your height in inches using a tape measure. Your height is multiplied by itself. So for 5 ft = 60 inches x 60 = 3,600 inches. Divide the first calculated number by the second and you will get your BMI. So 84,360 / 3,600 = 23.43. Using the table you are considered Normal. Check your BMI with the table. If below 18.5 then its underweight, if it is between 18.5 and 24.9, normal, if 25.0 to 29.9, overweight and 30.0 over is a candidate for obesity.

So to find the correct weight for height you should know these factors. First is the size of the waist and the second is BMI or body mass index. By using these methods, you will have a good idea leading to good fitness.
A simple rule of thumb is the height is half the size of the waist. So with a height is 5”4 converted to 64 inches. Divide it by 2 is 32, therefore the waist should be less or equal to 32 inches. Now get your BMI. It is a measure of the body fat you maintain. BMI calculators are on hand online. Once you know your BMI, you will know what category you are in.
